Pillar Kit for the Thompson/Center Compass - Boyds Stock

The kit contains the front and rear pillars for mounting a T/C Compass rifle to a Boyds stock.  The front pillar is .277" ID x .375" OD x .6" long.  The rear pillar is .277" ID x .375" OD x 1.125" long.

Using the pillars will require some fitting (mainly drilling the mounting holes in the stock, and might need to file the pillars to the correct length).  The thickness of the Boyds stock can vary, so customize the length of the pillars to fit your particular stock.  If unsure, installation by a qualified gunsmith is recommended.

The pillars work well with our aluminum Front Magazine Clip.  It is recommended to replace the plastic trigger guard.

Get rid of the plastic and add pillars for a good solid metal-to-metal mount!

    The length is perfect. Easily used a drill press with a 25/64ths bit, and they fit nice and tight into the wood. Thank you.

    Great kit easy to install since you measure, verify alignment of the Boyd's action screw holes. Drill, install, then I added a touch of marine-tex to the top. Feels solid. This is also my second stock for the Compass. One was a Boyd's Prairie Hunter but I moved to the AT-One. Had the pillars in my last one and the groups were great so I didn't want to chance not having them again. I would recommend them, they work exactly as designed.

    I ordered right around the holidays, the order arrived rather fast, no problems there. The pieces themselves are nicely finished, no rough cut or spurs, very acceptable quality. Would order from them again.

    Thanks for making that an easy job! Perfectly fit in the Boyd's At One stock after expanding original holes. Range time in my future!

    Pillar bedding

    Very easy to install. Two things: 1. Take care to drill the 3/8 inch holes square to the stock. It takes some shims and patience. 2. I had to grind about .010 inches off of each to get the ends flush with the wood. I used JB Weld two-part as adhesive. Put a very thin film on the holes through the wood stock and drove the pillars in with a 3/8 inch brass punch. That's it. Put it back together and took to the range the next day. Can't say yet if I gained any accuracy, but it certainly didn't hurt.

    Worked great! Just had to true up the ends a little. Fit perfectly in a 3/8" hole drilled with a Forstner Bit!
