Front Magazine Clip & Pillar Kit

The kit contains the Front Magazine Clip and the front and rear pillars for mounting a Boyds stock to a Savage Axis rifle.  The kit also fits the Savage Axis II XP Hardwood stock.

The Front Magazine Clip is CNC milled from 6061 aluminum and replaces the plastic front mounting clip included with a Boyds Stock.  Replacing the plastic mounting clip allows you to properly torque down the front mounting fastener.  The bottom insert on the mounting clip is removed to allow proper pillar bedding of the stock.  The front pillar is .27" ID x .375" OD x .5" long.  The rear pillar is .27" ID x .375" OD x 1" long.

Using the pillars will require some fitting (drilling the mounting holes in the stock, and cutting or filing the pillars to the correct length).  The thickness of the Boyds stock can vary, so customize the length of the pillars to fit your particular stock.  If unsure, installation by a qualified gunsmith is recommended. It is recommended to replace the plastic trigger guard. 

Get rid of the plastic and add pillars for a good solid mount!

    Did have to modify overall length of all 3 items. Am sure was due to variances of Boyds stocks

    This is a great kit! The front magazine clip is a must have for anyone upgrading their Axis with a Boyds stock. The pillars are the perfect size and is just faster and easier than making them from scratch. I highly recommend this kit.

    I just finished using this kit mounting my Savage Axis in a custom Boyd's Stock.. The tips I got from V3 precision through their you-tube videos allowed me to make a better selection and additions to my order from Boyd's. I'm happy with the completed project, 25, 50, 100 yards happy...

    Anybody that owns a Savage Axis should install this Kit! Very little fitting required. Very well machined parts fit my Bodys Stock like a glove. Shot 1-1/2" to 2" 100 yard groups before, just go back from range shot 1" and sub 1" 100 yard groups! Will be my Grandson's first Deer hunt this year with this Axis 243! What ever happens will not be the Guns fault! My only negative comment is V3's Customer Communication!

    I bought a Boyds feather weight thumb hole stock which was far from being a drop in, but after several days getting it to fit I installed the mag and pillar kit. I went to the range and was getting 3/4 moa out of my 6.5 creedmore which was much better than with original stock. This pillar kit is well worth the work installing it and really locks the action in place.
