V3 Precision and the future of the Youtube channel

Posted by Randy Gray on Apr 15th 2018

Hi All,

I would like to give an update on V3 Precision's Youtube channel and what is planned for the future.

This is a relatively new business and new Youtube channel with a growing number of subscribers. Word has been getting around how Youtube is limiting monetization and will be restricting many of the gun channels.

In my opinion, there is a level of free speech that is being violated. Youtube is restricting content that is not illegal and resetting and restating guidelines to fit their monetary and political agenda.

While some channels have made a decent amount of return (monetary and advertising) on their investment of time, video costs, and personal or professional content, many like myself have never reached a level of monetary gain.  Youtube conveniently restructures their policies to limit the payout and maximize their income on advertisements.  Business is business, right?

But when it comes to pushing their political agenda, that is what bothers me.  I have a legal business, sell legal products, and have informative and educational content to share.  Whether I have 100 subscribers or 1 million, I have the right to be heard and my viewers have the right to access.

Going forward, I will still try to post some videos on Youtube (and try to follow the new Firearm guidelines) but will be actively searching for another platform.  Who knows when and what policies will change again in the near future.  There are some options, like Vimeo or Full30 for videos, and some forums out there for discussions.  Don't get me wrong, I still view videos on Youtube, but looking at it from a business prospective, Youtube is a high risk (because of their restrictions, censorship, and monetary policies).

I will start with Patreon to try to regain some lost revenue and keep this business alive.  This way you can participate with active content and rewards not available on Youtube.  You can access the Patreon page at http://patreon.com/V3Precision

I appreciate your patronage and hope to keep sharing my content with you!
